A downloadable card game

A Kaizo-themed physical game!

This is a card game about kaizo hacks inspired by the 80's-to-90's game "Super Trunfo", the brazilian version of "Top Trumps". This is also a tribute to all the SMW romhacking community! This game is not related to the SMW Central staff nor the project/organization itself. However, the SMW Central was the primary source for collecting the game data.

Some common values on cards were chosen arbitrarily, this game is not supposed to express any final/universal truths regarding the romhacks and the comparison, in fact, is just a subterfuge (a craftiness) to make the game possible. There is no better or worse hack, there are just situated hacks requiring this or that skill. Beginner-friendly hacks are a reality, and this matters once builds a more inclusive/democratic environment.

This is an ongoing project, the game may suffer updates after released.

This is essentially experimental.

If you have programming knowledge and wants to make an online tool that allows multiplayer meetings, feel free to use the deck. Just want you to credit me attaching the link of this game.

How to Play?

The game features 2 modes of play: top cards and pentadd.

In top cards mode, a crew of 2-6 people can play the game. One of them shuffle and deal all the cards face down, each player holds their cards so that they can see the top of the card only. The player to the dealer's left starts by reading out an item of the top card (eg, year 2019), the other players then read out the same item. The one with the best or the highest value wins and places all the cards including their own to the bottom of their pile. It is then their turn again to choose an item from the next card. If 2 or more cards share the same value, then all the cards are placed in the middle and the same player chooses again from the next card. The winner of the hand takes the cards in the middle as well. A single card of the game is entitled "top card" (trunfo), which means the player who holds it and reads it out wins all the cards in that round. The person with all the cards at the end is the winner.

In pentadd mode, 3-6 people can play. All the cards are shuffled and dealt face down. Players sort their cards and lay complete sets face up in the front of them (eg, 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E). The dealer starts by asking another player for a card (eg, "Have you got 3C?"). If they succeed in obtaining a card they can ask for another one until they are unsuccessful. Their turn then ends and the next player continues in the same way. Complete sets are laid face up. The game ends when all the sets are complete. The winner being the player with most sets.
